1978
Incorporation of the Societé Wiehe Montocchio, a joint venture between Jean-Baptiste Wiehe & Bernard Montocchio, for the industrial production and the marketing of eggs – a pioneer project in Mauritius.
1987
The company launches the first- ever branded egg in Mauritius: Oeudor.
1991
Ceres Ltd is incorporated and this is the beginning of the diversification and integration of our operations.
We obtain the franchise for world-renowned brands:
– Hy-Line (USA) for layer chicks
– Cobb (USA) for broiler chicks
1993
Ceres Ltd, with other partners invests in the creation of a new feed mill, namely, Meaders Feeds Ltd.
1997
Ceres becomes a member of the “International Egg Commission”.
2001
Ceres launches the franchise of the French brand of eggs “Matines”.
2002
Creation of a new department within Ceres to promote pharmaceutical and veterinary products.
Ceres obtains HACCP certification for its two egg packing plants.
2004
Ceres launches whole pasteurised liquid eggs.
2007
Creation of Ceres Madagascar which main activities are egg production and distribution.
2009
Ceres launches egg printing for all its edible eggs.
Launches a microbiological internal and serological laboratory for quality control.
2011
Ceres becomes Inicia.
2012
Inicia launches free range eggs.
